Where to Stay Page Settings

How to configure currency, suggested dates, booking reminders, and advanced hotel settings for your Where to Stay page.

Most of your Where to Stay setup happens directly on the page itself. But a handful of settings that control how the page behaves (from the currency guests see to whether neighborhoods appear at all) live in Event Settings. This article covers all of them.

From your Event Dashboard, click the gear icon, then select Event Settings. Click Where to Stay in the left panel.

Page Currency

Sets the currency used to display hotel prices on your Where to Stay page. When set, all hotel pricing on the guest-facing page renders in your chosen currency. If left unset, Joy defaults to each guest's locale-based currency.

  • Click the Default Currency dropdown and select your preferred currency.

  • Click Save Changes.

Suggested Dates

Suggested dates pre-fill the hotel search for guests. When a guest browses the hotel map or clicks Explore More Hotels, the search already has the right dates populated so they don't have to enter them manually.

  • Set the Check-In Date and Check-Out Date.

  • Toggle on Keep dates in sync with event schedule to have Joy prompt you to update hotel dates any time your event schedule changes.

  • Click Save Changes.

Guest Hotel Booking Reminder

Remind guests to book their hotel

When on, Joy automatically sends a reminder to guests who RSVP as attending, 7 days after they respond. The reminder includes a link to your Where to Stay page. Click Learn more for details.

  • Click Save Changes.

Help Guests Find a Place to Stay

These toggles control which sections and links appear on your Where to Stay page and event site.

Add 'Where to Stay' to Schedule

When on, a link to your Where to Stay page appears on your Schedule page so guests can easily navigate there.

More Hotels

When on, an Explore More Hotels button appears below your curated hotel list. Guests can browse Joy's full hotel search map with the same exclusive rates.

Vacation Rentals

When on, an Explore More Stays button appears on your page, linking guests to browse vacation rentals near your venue.

Neighborhoods

When on, your Neighborhoods section appears on the guest-facing page. Even if you've added neighborhoods in the editor, this toggle controls whether guests actually see them.

Advanced Hotel Settings

These settings control how Joy displays hotel pricing to guests.

Share Joy's exclusive hotel discounts when available

Joy gets special discounts through Closed User Group (CUG) rates (private discounts not available to the general public). When on, Joy offers these discounts to your guests.

Note: How the discount appears to guests depends on your page layout. On Map and Hotel Tiles, guests see the discounted rate and a Special Event Rate badge directly on the hotel card. On all other layouts, the discount appears after guests click the booking button.

Help guests compare and find the lowest rate before booking

When you've added a hotel with your own booking link (such as a room block link or a hotel's direct website), this feature shows guests a quick price comparison before they leave your site. Guests see Joy's rate alongside the external site's rate and can choose which to book through.

Display hotel booking links after registry purchases

When on, hotel booking links for your Where to Stay page are automatically included on guests' registry confirmation pages after they complete a purchase. This applies to cash fund contributions and registry product orders made through Joy, not to gift reservations where a guest marks "I'll buy this elsewhere."
