These settings control how RSVP works for your guests: whether it's open, who can use it, and what happens when your deadline passes. Most of these you configure once before sharing your site, then adjust if plans change. This article covers everything in RSVP settings.
From your Event Dashboard, click the gear icon, then select Event Settings.
Click RSVP in the left panel.
You can also get here by going to your RSVP page and clicking the Settings tab at the top.
Enable RSVP
Show RSVP on your website controls whether the RSVP page and form are visible on your site and in the Joy app. Turning it off removes RSVP entirely from both.
For more, see Turn Off Your RSVP.
Privacy
Require Password
When on, guests must enter your event password before they can RSVP. This uses the same password set in your Website settings. Use it if you want to make sure only people who have your password can respond.
Restrict RSVP to Guest List
When on, only guests already on your guest list can RSVP. Guests must confirm their name with an exact match. Anyone not on the list can't submit a response.
For a full explanation of how name matching works, see Strict Name Matching for Your Wedding RSVPs.
Allow Guests to Add Their Own +1s
When on, any guest can add a +1 during RSVP without you assigning them individually. This is useful for larger events or situations where tracking every +1 in advance isn't practical.
For more on managing +1s and parties, see Adding Plus Ones and Parties.
RSVP Deadline
Deadline Date
Use the Deadline date field to set the date after which guests can no longer RSVP. Deadlines end at midnight in your event's timezone.
Tip: If you have guests in other timezones, turn on the grace period to make sure no one misses the cutoff because of a timezone difference.
For a full walkthrough of setting up your deadline, see Set an RSVP Deadline.
Show Deadline to Guests
When on, your RSVP deadline is displayed on your website so guests know when they need to respond by.
Allow Late RSVPs
Allow late RSVPs (grace period) lets guests continue to RSVP for a set window after the deadline has passed. Use the Grace period dropdown to choose how long that window stays open. The default is 24 hours.
Post-Deadline Message
The Post-deadline message field lets you write a custom message shown to guests in place of the RSVP button once the deadline has passed. Leave it blank to show nothing. Up to 1,000 characters.
Advanced
Automatically remind guests about important event details sends email reminders to attending guests 6 months, 3 months, and 1 month prior to the event date to keep your event top of mind. Most couples leave this on.
