Description
Harvey Penick Golf Campus is excited to be the first and only facility in Austin to offer footgolf: a fun, fast-growing sport that combines the best elements of soccer and golf. Footgolf uses the basic rules and model of regular golf with a tee box, bunkers, hazards, and 18 holes of play. Players kick their balls along shorter holes towards 21-inch cup using the least amount of (foot)strokes possible.
The new 18-hole footgolf course opened in summer 2014 and is accredited by the American Footgolf League (AFGL), the sports governing body in the U.S.. It is built within the 9-hole PGA-Tour public golf course at Harvey Penick Golf Campus, and both tracks were designed to be able play both traditional golf and Footgolf simultaneously. The sport began in Europe in 2008 and primarily grew internationally until it came to the U.S. in 2011. Since then, over 190 courses in 36 states have been registered by the AFGL HPGC included!
