Joy Proposal Story: Allison & Douglas

Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?

On Allison’s Birthday, July 6th, 2018. At the Oceanic Pier in Wrightsville Beach, NC. On Allison’s birthday, she had hoped to spend the afternoon on the beach with friends and family. Doug had been secretly talking with the people she was invited to let them know the plan for the proposal so that they could go along with it. Allison was being especially difficult because of her insistence on wanting to go to the beach and as friends were contacting her to let her know they could not make it, it did not phase her that something else was going on behind the scenes. Doug was in touch with Allison’s family, out of town friends, a photographer and his friend Tony who was flying the drone, as he was trying to get Allison out of her swimsuit and ready for dinner. Since she was not expecting to be photographed, Allison saw no need to worry about getting ready and was perfectly happy changing at the beach and going to the Oceanic Pier for some birthday drinks before dinner. Doug finally managed to get Allison off the beach as their friends and family were sneaking around to get a good view. Doug and Allison were strolling around on the pier until Doug found the perfect moment to take out the ring and pop the question. When that moment came Doug surprised Allison with the most incredible one of a kind diamond wave engagement ring. Doug had been working on the design for the ring with the jeweler for many months previously and had it in his possession a few months before the proposal! The ring even includes some diamonds from Doug’s Grandmother and Great Grandmother. After she said YES, is when Allison realized they had quite an audience! It was such an amazing experience for both of them to share their engagement with friends and family over the water and have amazing photographs and a drone video of it all.
