I love the simplicity and the efficiency. I also took advantage of the prints option. I was able to order save the dates, invites and rsvp cards that match my theme on the website and we, my fiance and I, really like that. Highly recommend it!

Whether they’re printed or digital, try to send your save the dates at least 4 to 6 months before your wedding date. But if you’re planning a destination wedding, you should send them around the 9-month mark to give your guests enough time to prepare, request time off from work, and book travel and lodging arrangements.
After you sign up with Joy, just go to your admin dashboard and choose a theme you love that’ll match your website, app, and save the dates. Then, go to your guest list, and click on the checkbox or icon next to your name to send yourself a test save the date. From there, find “Send Invites & Messages” at the top of the page, and select “Save the Date E-Card” where you can edit your email as well as the theme and contents of your e-card. Once your save the dates are exactly how you want them, and you’ve approved the test version, add your guests to the guest list on your admin dashboard, if you haven’t already, and follow the steps above to send your save the dates. Simple!
Not at all! You can think of them as a way to quickly communicate the most important information your guests need to know about your big day—straight to their inbox, where they already spend a lot of time anyway. Online save the dates are not only cost-effective and efficient, but they generally require less work and offer more flexibility if you make any errors. They’re also less formal than wedding invitations, making them an ideal place to add your wedding website URL.
Yes! More and more couples are choosing to send electronic save the dates to save time and paper. Just keep in mind that you may need to remind some of your less tech savvy guests to check their email.
Absolutely! Joy’s guest list manager includes labels so you can easily keep track of who received which type of save the date or invitation.
While it’s ultimately your decision, we highly recommend that save the dates are a part of your suite of wedding announcements. This way, you’ll ensure your guests have access to the who, what, where, and when of your wedding—just as soon as you’ve determined these details. Plus, by including your wedding website link on your save the dates, you’ll enable your guests to learn more about the wedding (details involving the rehearsal dinner and dress code, for instance) and RSVP online.
Our recommendation is to keep it simple — just include your names, the date or dates of the event, and the city or area where your wedding will take place. Many couples also choose to include a note that formal invitations will follow in the future.
