Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?
We took a 12-day European vacation at the end of September 2017. We started in Paris, France then went on to Ireland, London and back to Paris for one more day before we flew out. On the last day of our vacation, we wanted to set up a picnic with a view of the Eiffel Tower. We picked up bread, cheese, meats, wine and set up at a local’s spot with the most amazing unobstructed view of the Eiffel Tower with only a handful of others there. Perry set up a camera and told me that we were going to take a picture. He instead hits record, gets down on one knee, and proposes to me!
What has been your favorite experience planning the wedding?
Working as a team, coming up with ideas, and figuring out how to make it happen.
How do you stay sane under the pressures of wedding planning?
We don’t take anything too seriously. We know the difference between being really picky about a detail that guests are not even going to notice and putting the effort into the things that we really care about and will make our day special.
What is your favorite part of using Joy for your wedding?
It feels like Joy knows us so well! Joy predicted everything that we wanted for a website and more. The websites show understanding of what the process of planning is like and makes it so much easier for us.
What piece of advice would you give couples to ensure that they use Joy to its fullest potential?
Keep coming back to your webpage, explore all of the features it has, and utilize them!
At Joy we believe that even though a wedding lasts a day, joy lasts forever. What does that mean to you?
The joy and happiness we feel being in each other’s lives is represented on this one day, surrounded by family and friends. A wedding is the one day we get to show off to our loved ones what we mean to each other and the love we share. We don’t feel like a wedding marks the beginning or end of anything. We will continue to love and experience pure joy just as we were before the wedding!
