How did the two of you meet?
Through a mutual friend while I was visiting Ireland for a music festival.
Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?
I knew there was a ring – but I didn’t know when he was going to pop the question. We were away in San Diego for a weekend and he had planned on a romantic dinner out – but I managed to foil the plan by not wanting to go out for a long dinner after a long day sight seeing. So instead we went for a couple of drinks – but on our way out – he had to run back to the hotel ‘to get his wallet’. We had a nice evening out and when we arrived back at the hotel room – the ring was on the bed and he got down on one knee and proposed. It was super sweet. It was a perfect moment for just the two of us! I obviously said yes! Then I felt really bad for ruining his original plan!
What has been your favorite experience planning the wedding?
Everything so far – John’s been involved and interested at every step of the way. We’re both on the same page of how we want the day to unfold!
How do you stay sane under the pressures of wedding planning?
We are getting married in Ireland in May 2018 – so a lot of the planning has to be done remotely. I have an amazing wedding planner who also happens to be a good friend. She has made the planning process so incredibly easy. She’s truly a master at what she does and has taken the headaches out of everything. Also – spreadsheets- I have a spreadsheet for everything! Knowing our budget, tracking our expenses, managing the guest list, pretty much everything, is in a spreadsheet 🙂
