Joy Proposal Story: Karl & Alexandra

Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?

It didn’t go nearly as planned. It was supposed to happen in a very cool park, Humlegarden, in Stockholm. Instead, it happened on a side street during a cold, snowy, pitch black Stockholm night. Magical.

What has been your favorite experience planning the wedding?

Honestly, the website. The rest has not been fun, yet. Haha!

How do you stay sane under the pressures of wedding planning?

Deferring to a wedding planning professional! Working with someone local who not only knows the industry and the vendors but understands our bigger vision and themes. We want everything to be a yes or no decision by presenting options and being decisive.

What is your favorite part of using Joy for your wedding?

We are planning a wedding six thousand miles away from the venue. With guests coming from all over, coordinating and handling as many aspects digitally as possible, has been the best. It was my intent to build something custom to manage guests, schedules, etc. I’m so glad I found Joy!

What piece of advice would you give couples to ensure that they use Joy to its fullest potential?

I can only speak to early phases of the wedding planning process. I think the best way to make the most of Joy is using the platform to communicate with your guests (in a modern way) by sharing updates and all relevant information in the same place, it’s extremely value adding! Joy provides the tools to create something that is uniquely yours, your own individual branding and themes.

At Joy we believe that even though a wedding lasts a day, joy lasts forever. What does that mean to you?

Joy is like sunshine on a beach, no bad vibes.
