Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?
We went to Milan a few days before Christmas to celebrate with Filippo’s family. He decided that he wanted to take me out for dinner alone one night. I thought this was odd as we were there to see his family, but naturally said, “Okay.” He booked a lovely restaurant looking onto the Duomo di Milano which is one of the most beautiful buildings in Europe and incredibly romantic. We had a wonderful dinner, oysters, pasta, chocolate tart and of course, plenty of prosecco. He promised me that after dinner we could walk through the Galleria and back to the Duomo when all the tourists had left. By 11pm, when dinner was finished, we did our little walk with all the stunning Christmas lights around. We ended up right next to the Duomo when Filippo said to me, “I have always wanted to ask the woman of the dreams to marry me right here…. Will you marry me?” He then pulled out the most beautiful ring! I was in shock (in a good way), I cried, and before I knew it, the ring was on my finger and we were kissing. It was like no one else was around us for the next hour and we could not stop smiling. It was a night we will never forget!
What has been your favorite experience planning the wedding?
The design, styling, and flowers!
How do you stay sane under the pressures of wedding planning?
I am a wedding planner and own my own business. I am used to the pressure of planning other peoples wedding all the time, so planning ours has been pretty easy so far… luckily!
What is your favorite part of using Joy for your wedding?
Setting up our Joy website was such an easy process. I have also recommended it to clients of mine in the past.
What piece of advice would you give couples to ensure that they use Joy to its fullest potential?
Play around with all the different sections before inviting people to view your website. Really make the most of everything Joy offers!
