Engine Company 12

Starting in 1897, Engine Company 12 began service with a steam fire engine and a hose reel carriage servicing several neighborhoods including Bloomingdale and Eckington. Then in 2007 the building itself was placed on the National Register of Historical Place and was later fully restored in 2013 and reopened as a premier DC wedding venue! Stunning hardwood floors, exposed brick walls and timber beams give this historic venue a warm rustic feel. Plus, what’s a wedding without a fire pole?! With several spaces within the venue to choose from, you and your guests are sure to enjoy your celebration here.

Capacity: 80-200 guests depending on which area you choose and how the space is configured.

Heurich House Museum

Want a wedding venue with some character and history and maybe a little bit of beer? The Heurich House Museum might be the perfect place to have your wedding! Built in 1892 by German immigrant Christian Heurich, the house included some of the most modern technology at the time, such as indoor plumbing and electronic communication systems. Christian was recognized as D.C’s most successful brewer of beer until his death at the age of 102 years, and the Heurich House was the city’s longest running brewery. Today the interiors reflect period decor, giving this venue a nice warm intimate aesthetic. Couples will have their choice of having their ceremony and reception in either the indoor Conservatory, filled with natural light, or out in the gorgeous private Castle Garden.

Capacity: 30-125 guests

Typical Cost:  $500-$10,000

Bonus: Price reductions are offered for receptions without alcohol or dancing and for under 30 guests
