How did the two of you meet?
Patrick and I worked in the same office building and met while making coffee, in the break room!
Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?
Patrick proposed on December 1st, 2016 in Santa Fe, NM at the gorgeous Hotel Santa Fe Hacienda. I was completely surprised when we arrived at our suite and a bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries were waiting for us. Before I could even set down my bag, Patrick was on one knee proposing with a beautiful ring he hid from me on our flight! After the proposal, we were led to the lounge area for a private celebration with drinks by the fireplace and beautiful Christmas tree. The next morning we woke up to a snow covered balcony. I felt like I was living in a fairy tale! We spent the rest of our trip celebrating and exploring New Mexico, complete with an incredible dinner at the famous restaurant, Geranimo. I cannot think of a more perfect proposal!
What has been your favorite experience planning the wedding?
Finding our venue has been the best part! We chose a location that is not only beautiful, but fits our personalities- Estancia La Jolla Hotel & Spa.
How do you stay sane under the pressures of wedding planning?
First and foremost, we do not take ourselves too seriously! I have also been lucky enough to have the support and help from our families. In the end, a wedding is about celebrating love. We keep that in mind throughout the planning process.
What is your favorite part of using Joy for your wedding?
The customer service and response time has been outstanding. I love the design options and ease of use. We also used the recommended stationary website and they have done a phenomenal job with our invitations!
What piece of advice would you give couples to ensure that they use Joy to its fullest potential?
Take advantage of the chat feature if you need assistance, they are so quick to reply! Make sure to check out each feature and customize the RSVP questions as needed.
At Joy we believe that even though a wedding lasts a day, joy lasts forever. What does that mean to you?
A wedding is one big celebration of a couple’s past, present, and future together. I believe weddings are also special because guests reminisce their own experiences of joy and love.
