Joy Proposal Story: Stetson & Abigail

Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?

Stetson actually got together with my best friend, Alison, and planned a photo shoot where he would propose. She texted me and asked if he and I would be interested in being models for her to practice on and I was none the wiser. He asked my parents about a month before while they planned. We met Alison at a little event center in Mansfield, TX. We started taking pictures just posing and laughing. After a little while, Stetson signaled to Alison and he knelt down while my back was turned. When I turned around I was totally surprised. And it was all caught on camera! There was a little screaming and some crying but I can’t tell you how happy I was!

What has been your favorite experience planning the wedding?

Oh gosh, I don’t think I’ve found my favorite part yet! I do love looking at wedding dresses and bridesmaid dresses with my mom and bridesmaids. I love the dream of it and how it’s all coming together.

How do you stay sane under the pressures of wedding planning?

I talk to my mom about everything and if I’m stuck on something, I talk to Stetson also. A little hot yoga doesn’t hurt either!

What is your favorite part of using Joy for your wedding?

I love how easy it is to use Joy. It’s an easy step-by-step process and you can match your website to your invitations!

What piece of advice would you give couples to ensure that they use Joy to its fullest potential?

Have fun with it! I love that I can put everything in one place and that my guests can refer straight to our Joy website if they have any questions.

At Joy we believe that even though a wedding lasts a day, joy lasts forever. What does that mean to you?

Even if things aren’t exactly as we hope, the flowers are wrong, too many guests show up, the cake isn’t delivered…it’s okay.  At the end of the day, I get to marry the man I love.
