Joy Proposal Story: Kailah & Taylor

Joy Proposal Story: Kailah & Taylor

Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?

We went snowboarding at Brighton Resort in Salt Lake City. He was snowboarding with the ring in his pocket, and was acting really strange. He was holding out for the perfect moment, but it just so happened that I had no idea what was going on. I told him I was tired and that I wanted to go home. He begged me to go on one more run with him, and I agreed. As we were going down he sped up to get ahead of me so that he could get down on one knee, and I accidentally went the wrong direction than where he had gone! We had to spend some time finding each other, and when he caught up with me he got down on his knees, holding the ring in his hands. I could tell he was holding something but thought it was a snowball. So here I am hobbling away from him while he was trying to propose! Finally, when he got me over to him, he popped the question. I really thought he was messing with me! The whole thing was messy and funny but makes for some great laughs now.

What has been your favorite experience planning the wedding?

My favorite experience has been going to bridal shows and getting to plan things out. I love to plan events, so it has been a blast!

How do you stay sane under the pressures of wedding planning?

I think I stay sane by constantly reminding myself that it is mine and Taylor’s wedding, no one else’s. I think that’s something every bride should remember because everyone is going to try and push their ideas on you. In the end, it’s your wedding and you can’t make everyone happy. Just make you happy, when you look back on your pictures in 30 years you don’t want to be upset that you didn’t do something or that you got pressured into doing something you didn’t want.
