Joy Proposal Story: Rachel & Brendon

Joy Proposal Story: Rachel & Brendon

Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?

Brendon totally surprised me by proposing on one of my flights. I am a pilot and was flying for a private charter company. There were no other passengers on the flight and he was able to talk to my Captain beforehand and devise a distraction that would bring me to the back of the airplane. During cruise flight, my Captain told me I had to head to the back of the airplane in order to check out something that might be wrong with the wing. So, I climbed back to look out the window and Brendon grabbed my hands, got down on one knee and said a beautiful speech. He pulled out the ring of my dreams and asked me to marry him. It was incredible! It was made even better because my best friend was visiting at the time and was on the flight with us. I climbed back up front and landed the airplane so smoothly and thought to myself, “What a great day!”

What has been your favorite experience planning the wedding?

Being able to plan something that will include all of our family and friends in California has been wonderful. We love it out here and want to show everyone how beautiful the west coast can be, as well as bring our own flair to it. We have been having a blast planning everything so far!

At Joy we believe that even though a wedding lasts a day, joy lasts forever. What does that mean to you?

A wedding is just the beginning! It’s a celebration of the start of our life together and we are so happy to be able to share it with those that we love. Our next step is to make sure we bring joy to each other’s lives forever.
