Joy Proposal Story: Christi & Anel

Anel proposed on her own birthday at the ColdPlay concert, but the best part was that Anel surprised Christi with a proposal after Christi had surprised Anel with going to the concert. Anel didn’t even know for sure that they would be going to the concert. She just really hoped that was the case. During “Sky Full of Stars”, Anel had a beautiful message scrolling across her phone that was supposed to “pop the question”, but that message was interrupted by a commercial break and then the phone froze. So Anel had to improvise. She opened up the ring box she had been hiding for hours. Christi saw the beautiful ring and finally understood what was happening. And then after some tears, a long hug and a few kisses, she said , “YES!” Christi took Anel on a “double date” to a behind the scenes penguin encounter at the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach. Christi invited her photographer friend and her partner to capture the big moment, but Anel just thought it was a date. During the behind the scenes tour they got to cuddle with the baby penguins and then hang out with the rest of the older penguins in their habitat. As they were in the enclosure(in public view), Christi got down on one knee and proposed with a pebble just like the penguins do. But there is a twist to the story, Anel knew what was about to happen. She knew because she had originally planned to propose to Christi, the same day, the same way, but in front of the penguin enclosure (not in it).
