Joy Proposal Story: Katie & Ryan

by Kelsey Vickers

How did the two of you meet?

We met while working at Subway, our first job in high school. We both worked there until after we graduated!

Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?

Ryan planned the whole event without Katie having a clue, on their fifth anniversary. When they arrived at the Beloit Airport, Katie was confused and had no clue what was going on. She later realized that Ryan planned a surprise for her to cross off her bucket list, jumping out of a perfectly good airplane. Katie couldn’t contain her excitement! This was their first time jumping out of a plane and it was also Ryan’s first time on a plane! A video captured the pure shock on Katie’s face when she landed on the ground, after falling 13,000 feet from the air, to see Ryan proposing. It was easily one of the greatest days in Katie’s life.

What is your favorite part of using Joy for your wedding?

I love the designs and it’s so easy to use.

What piece of advice would you give couples to ensure that they use Joy to its fullest potential?

Use as many features as possible and have guests download the app.

At Joy we believe that even though a wedding lasts a day, joy lasts forever. What does that mean to you?

Joy is living each day to the fullest and recognizing the blessings that life holds, every day. Cherishing the moments spent with our loved ones on our big day will bring us joy long after our wedding.
