How did the two of you meet?
We went to school together our whole lives, but didn’t talk until a get together at his parents’ house.
How long have you been together?
About 2 1/2 years! We’ll be just shy of 3 years at the wedding!
Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?
It was on New Years’ Day 2017, and we were spending the first part of our day having dinner with my family. On the way home I started griping at Wade, telling him I needed to know when we get married! Ironic, right? We’re going down the highway, Wade isn’t answering my questions at all, and I’m starting to get frustrated—and all of a sudden Wade just turned down an old dead end road, ‘Oak Ridge Road.’ He comes around to my door (I’m very confused at this point!), and after a few words, gets down on one knee! I’m still buckled in, completely surprised… with a few happy tears I unbuckled and stood up to hug Wade.
A wedding is just an event, but joy is something that you carry with you all of the time!
Afterwards he told me he had more romantic plans for popping the question, but I just wouldn’t shut up – surprise!
What has been your favorite experience planning the wedding?
Picking out the music! We’ve started jotting down songs whenever we hear them, and it’s something we like looking for when we have free time!
How do you stay sane under the pressures of wedding planning?
My friends have been there to keep me on track with projects and what I need to do, and my family has also done so much! My mom has helped me with so much of everything, and my future MIL has completely taken over the wedding shower!! We have such great helpers!
What is your favorite part of using Joy for your wedding?
I love that we can use it to display everything that goes on our invite and more! The FAQ can save me so much time, and everyone else trouble!
What piece of advice would you give couples to ensure that they use Joy to its fullest potential?
Take your time, and work through the pages, and upload extra pictures to pick from in case it crops differently!
