How did the two of you meet?
We officially met in our sixth-grade class but I knew of him since third grade through an after-school program we both attended. We made a pact to tell each other who we liked by the end of the school year and it just so happened we liked each other!
Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?
A local park in our hometown with twinkle lights, candles, flowers, and the letters “Marry Me” were laid out on a park bench. He had friends hiding to turn on the lights when we arrived. I was completely caught by surprise and not ready! I thought for sure I would be made up and in a cute dress. This was not the case, but I loved it anyway!

What has been your favorite experience planning the wedding?
Tough question, I love a lot of the planning! I would say by far my favorite was looking for the perfect venue! There are so many great ones out there.

How do you stay sane under the pressures of wedding planning?
My fiancé and my dog are a huge part of that. They keep me sane by being with me and helping me though. I think that it’s also because I’m keeping busy doing other things and not making wedding planning something I do all the time. You just have to have balance!
What is your favorite part of using Joy for your wedding?
I am so happy I found Joy! The interface is so user-friendly and easy to use for creating our website. Plus, it’s so simple for our guests to navigate! It’s also so aesthetically pleasing! I love that there are FAQs already there for me to answer because sometimes coming up with the question, is the hardest part.

At Joy we believe that even though a wedding lasts a day, joy lasts forever. What does that mean to you?
We have been together for awhile. Even though I am excited about our wedding day, I know that it is just one day. Taking time to be together and growing together, is where you find joy. Relationships are not easy and they take work, but they’re worth it!
