Joy Proposal Story: Christina & Mark

by Kelsey Vickers

How did the two of you meet?

We met in Columbus, OH at our first jobs out of college in a city that was new to both of us!

Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?

The proposal took place in Mark & Christina’s apartment on New Years Eve of 2016. Christina was working out and running errands. Within the hour she was gone, Mark and all of his friends from high school set up the apartment with roses, champagne, and a card. Oblivious to any of this, Christina returned home while Mark’s friends quickly evacuated through the back door.

“Joy means being uncontrollable happy, finding yourself smiling from ear to ear without a reason.”

Once in the apartment, she saw the display and knew something was up. She asked Mark what all of this was for. He simply replied that it was an apology for something. Naturally, Christina automatically said, “Thank you but you didn’t need to get SO MANY flowers.” Christina quickly realized after taking one look at the card what was truly going on. After the proposal finished and friends and family were called, Mark shared with her that all his friends hid their phones. The whole thing was recorded for the two of them to have as a keepsake.

Be sure to continue to do things with your partner that is not directly related to the wedding.
