Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?
We met up with some friends at a winery in Northern Virginia (Pearmund Cellars). He made me believe that I had made these plans with my best friend and her husband, but he was behind the scenes orchestrating the whole thing. The four of us got a bottle of wine, sat down, and were just chatting about nothing. Serban stopped the conversation and said, “I’m sorry, I have to do this right now.” He got down on one knee. I said, “Yes!” and my best friend and her husband took beautiful pictures!
What has been your favorite experience planning the wedding?
Neither of us really like planning. (Unless it’s booking a hotel or Airbnb for the beach! Wedding planning is a bit too much for us.) We knew we had to get started but kept putting it off. Finally one night, over some wine, we looked at venues. It’s so nice to be able to go through all of this with my best friend!
How do you stay sane under the pressures of wedding planning?
I’m not doing it alone! I have Serban, my parents, and my best friend is a wedding videographer, so she has great insight! It’s nice to be part of a team instead of doing it all alone.
What is your favorite part of using Joy for your wedding?
I love that I’ll get to send paperless save-the-dates using Joy! It’ll save money…and the environment!
What piece of advice would you give couples to ensure that they use Joy to its fullest potential?
I’m so new to this, I can’t speak to that just yet! (I would love some advice from others though!)
At Joy we believe that even though a wedding lasts a day, joy lasts forever. What does that mean to you?
The wedding is just one day in the lifetime of joy I’ll have by marrying my favorite person.
