Shada and Chris met in college. They were put into a group project together and became instant friends. Shada knew after the first week of meeting Chris and getting to know him, that he was going to change her life.
Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?
On the top of Catalina island. We were all alone after hiking a four mile trail up to watch sunset together, he said he had no idea that he was going to propose when we got there and had been carrying the ring around for three months trying to find the perfect moment, but when we got up there he just had this feeling that it was time so he popped the question and it was perfect and he got it all on camera.
That’s really what I’m excited for—I’m just excited for life with Chris.
What has been your favorite experience planning the wedding?
Buying my dress! And being engaged to the love of my life, its just an exciting new time in our relationship and I love spending that time with him in anticipation of spending the rest of our lives together.

How do you stay sane under the pressures of wedding planning?
I don’t hahaha you just push through it and plan the day and just remember that in the end you’re saying ‘I do’ to the most amazing person and thats what its really all about.
What is your favorite part of using Joy for your wedding?
The look and how easy and simple it is to navigate. I also like the RSVP portion where it allows you to ask your confirmed guests a few extra questions about extra things like allergies, or if they need help finding a hotel.
What piece of advice would you give couples to ensure that they use Joy to its fullest potential?
Put in the work to fill out all the sections, its nice when its all done because if anyone has any questions about the day it can be all planned out on the site which is super helpful!
