Joy Proposal Story: Teresa & Randy

by Kelsey Vickers

Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?

We had just arrived in Spokane early that morning. We went out to a casino, had some dinner and gambled a bit. I was on a winning streak, having just made about $450 from my last $6 left in the machine! We left and went back to my daughters home. I was told to hurry up and come out to the backyard where they were going to set up the fire pit so we could roast marshmallows and make s’mores. I followed my mom out the kitchen door to the backyard. As I was walking on the pathway, I noticed red and white rose petals with white lights leading to a pop-up tent where Randy was standing, holding our grandson. They had country music playing and cameras all pointing at me. I walked to the end where he was at and he said, “I asked your girls for permission to marry you, now our grandbaby has a question for you”. Then I read our grandbaby’s shirt which said, “Grandma, will you please marry Grandpa?” I nearly cried. My daughter took the baby from Randy, he knelt on one knee, asked me to marry him and placed the engagement ring on my finger. Yes, I was surprised! I knew a proposal was coming. I just didn’t know when and how. He really got me good!
