Real Joy Wedding: Karissa & Ben

Real Joy Wedding: Karissa & Ben

First off, congrats! What is your most memorable moment from the wedding?

Definitely having all our loved ones in the same, beautiful place blessing and celebrating our marriage! And, of course, marrying my soulmate! Ben’s poem vows were pretty great, and the music was hype!

What were the colors of your wedding?

We really didn’t have set colors. The bridesmaid’s dresses had a mix of prints, which I love. There were greens, blues, pinks, and whites mostly.

Roughly how many guests were present at your wedding?

We had 160 people.

What do you think worked really well at your wedding that you would recommend every couple to do?

Really enjoy everyone who came out to celebrate with you and make sure you dance! Live in the moment because nothing else matters. This day is yours!

Would you have done anything differently—splurge on a pricier dress, nix the favors, go for that extra passed appetizer?

No, our wedding was literally the best day ever, for us! No regrets.

What tips do you have for other Joy couples still in the midst of wedding planning?

I didn’t worry about the small details… and I’m glad I didn’t! I think they can be overlooked and while planning, people get too stressed out over them.

What were your favorite features of Joy?

We had everyone RSVP on our Joy site and I was able to keep tabs on guests, digitally. It kept me really organized! I also like the love story you can include on the site. Some people who attend don’t know it and it’s nice to share. I know I personally like reading others!

What were the features you found missing in Joy?

Nothing, the Joy app is great! It’s pretty high tech and helpful during the planning process!

At Joy we believe that although a wedding lasts one day, joy lasts forever. What does that mean to you and your husband?

Our wedding brought us so much joy! It really meant the world that so many people blessed us. Everyone brought the Aloha spirit and positive, loving vibes to our special day. It was such an incredible feeling! We will always carry on that same Aloha spirit within our marriage. When two people love each other like we do, there will always be joy!
