5 Unique Los Angeles Wedding Photographers

The City of Angels attracts artists of all types, and photographers are no exception. When it comes to finding one for your wedding, the abundance of options can seem overwhelming. To help you find the perfect person to capture your wedding day, here are five of our favorite unique wedding photographers in Los Angeles!

Tyler Chase Photography

Ethereal and organic.

Her philosophy: “I LOVE giving my couples a combination of lots of candid moments mixed with some editorial + documentary style images. A wedding day can be stressful and I’ll be there to keep you calm. My clients always tell me how zen I was the whole day and how I was able to keep them calm and lower their stress levels! That is always one of the most meaningful and humbling compliments for me to hear. I feel so lucky that I get to be the one to capture this huge moment in my clients’ lives.”

What she wants her clients to know: “ In the whirlwind that is a wedding day, it’s hard to keep track of all the hard work my clients have put into the day, so I make sure to capture every detail so they can cherish and pass the memories down from generation to generation. Also, seeing grandparents shake their booty on the dance floor is definitely one of my favorite moments.”

Bonus: If you mention this article, you will get 10% off your wedding package! (Good for weddings through 2019)

Anya Kernes Photography

Joyful and editorial.

Anya approaches weddings with a fine art aesthetic, which reflects her natural, joyful, and editorial style.

Her philosophy: “I love incorporating film photography into my work because of the way that it captures light and colors with a timeless and natural feel to it.”

What she wants her clients to know: “My intention is to always make my couples feel comfortable by directing them in an unobtrusive matter to capture candid authentic portraits and timeless moments throughout the day.  I weave together those portraits, documentary moments and carefully composed details to tell the complete story of the day that will help my couples look back and remember not just what it looked like, but what it felt like.”

Bonus: Anya absolutely love the responsibility of being a wedding photographer, as it shapes the way couples and their future generations view this very special day in their lives. It is extremely rewarding documenting these precious moments for her couples.

Eve Rox Photography

Romantic and fun.

Her philosophy: “I try to run my business as simple and stress free as possible for my couples. I get involved in their day in hopes that they have the best day ever and that I capture their happiness in my photographs. When a couple trusts me and gives me space … that’s when I get creative.”

What she wants her clients to know: “I always tell my couples to give me enough time to photograph on their wedding day. This is why I also recommend having a first look. So they enjoy their wedding day. A trend I’ve been dying to photograph this year is the HUGE COLORFUL BALLOONS!”

Bonus: Eve offers complimentary engagement sessions with her packages. It’s a form to get to know each other better. Also it helps the couple not be nervous around her on their wedding day.

Clarisse Rae Photo & Video

Fun and candid.

Her philosophy: “I’m all about getting the couple to feel and look natural, because that’s when their personalities really shine through! My editing style is pretty clean and true-to-life, but with a punchy, warm feel to it. I like to keep skin tones looking how they should and I love bright, bold colors! I like to think I’m pretty fun to shoot with!”

What she wants her couples to know: “ I personally don’t love having my photo taken, and I can get awkward in front of the camera. So, I know how some couples feel! People get nervous and feel like that will show in their photos, so I try to keep things fun and not too stiff and posed so the outcome is natural, fun-filled photos that reflect the couple and their personalities as individuals, and as a couple! Basically, what makes me and my business unique is it’s a fun experience that will give you some killer photos to remember and smile about for a lonngggg time.”

Bonus: Clarisse offers both photo AND video coverage together in one package! And, all of her packages come with a complimentary engagement shoot so you can get to know each other before the wedding 🙂

Loie Photography

Stylish and modern.

Her philosophy: “I create photographs that look stylish, modern, and fun! One of the most important thing to me is that my couples look super natural in their photographs. I’m not into super posey stuff, and I believe in using an editing style that will stand the test of time. My work is timeless and candid. It’s also really important to me that couples just have fun on their wedding day! This is a once in a lifetime kind of day, so having fun is sooo important!”

What she wants her clients to know: “I love traveling with my clients to places near and far. This past year, a couple took me up to Big Sur and another took me to Maui. Both experiences were soooo unforgettable! ’m all about making sure you look good and have an amazing time! Look good, get married. That’s my unofficial motto. 🙂 But seriously, I get that taking photographs can be sooo awkward; and I also get that you just want to look like yourself. I make that happen.”

Brett’s favorite wedding trends: “My preference is couples that ditch trends and just fully embrace their own personal styles! Some of my favorite things I’ve seen in the past year are the following: A bride requested that a few of her favorite gal-pals dressed in the hues of the rainbow… Like a total ROY G BIV situation, with each girl in a different hue. When the bride and her man entered the reception, they created a tunnel for them to go through. It was AMAZING and so unique.”
