How did you get into photography? Are you self-taught or formally trained?
I had a career in graphic design that eventually led to photography.
Describe your style in one sentence.
My style captures emotions, feelings, and memories. It’s bright and moody… the best of both worlds!
What’s been your favorite experience as a wedding photographer?
Weddings are often the most memorable time for most people. I love my job so much because I get to be a big part of those moments! I have the privilege to freeze/capture all of those moments and feelings and allow them to relive them forever!
What piece of advice would you give brides and grooms to ensure that they get wedding photos they love forever? (This can include tips about preparation, choosing a photographer, or anything else.)
I would encourage every bride to work hard beforehand to make sure that their coordinator and photographer have a great – cohesive timeline! And then on your wedding day… don’t look at it and just enjoy! Let everyone else worry about the timeline and you just take in every single moment!
At Joy we believe that even though a wedding lasts a day, joy lasts forever. What does that mean to you?
Joy is what every wedding should consist of! Don’t focus on making your wedding day perfect – instead, enjoy! The wedding day is such an important day in life, and I am not minimizing that! But, if your dress gets some dirt on the bottom, don’t worry about it! It’s meant to be worn once! If your tears of joy mess up your makeup, don’t worry about it! Take in those moments because you will cherish them forever. Just remember that joy is more important than everything being perfect. The joy is what you will remember for a lifetime!
