How did the two of you meet?
We met in high school but lost touch. We re-connected over Halloween weekend while dressed up as a magic 8 ball and ladybug at our neighborhood bar!
Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?
He proposed while we were on vacation in Cabo San Lucas. It was our last night there and we’d planned to go to dinner at a really romantic restaurant. The flaw in the plan was our timing. As we got ready the sun went down and a fireworks show began going off outside of our room. We ended up watching the show and arrived at dinner pretty late. The last thing I needed to do before we left for dinner was put my jewelry on so I did and as we were about to walk out the door Mike asked if I’d like to wear one more piece of jewelry.
What has been your favorite experience planning the wedding?
When we got back from vacation and called our families to tell them the news! Everyone really showered us with love and it was the first moment that I felt “Oh my gosh, this is really happening!” Thinking about it now still brings me to tears.
How do you stay sane under the pressures of wedding planning?
Strong communication between the two of us and strong drinks! Only half kidding on the second part. We did receive some bottles of wine and champagne for our engagement and whenever we accomplish something big in our wedding planning, we pop open a bottle and celebrate!

The helpful tips. I wouldn’t know what to include or not include on the website without a little help!
What piece of advice would you give couples to ensure that they use Joy to its fullest potential?
Start early and not rush! There’s so much information you can and want to include. Give yourself time to be thoughtful about it!
