How did you get into photography? Are you self-taught or formally trained?
About six months ago I was struggling to find who I was. I knew my mom had a DSLR so I borrowed it to see if photography would be something I might be interested in. I fell completely in love with it! I have been self-taught by listening to others and also figuring things out on my own.
Describe your style in one sentence.
My style is bright and airy, with a lifestyle twist.
What do you love most about photographing weddings? Why do you photograph weddings in particular?
I love watching two people fall in love all over again!
Do you have a favorite, must-capture moment for every wedding?
Bridal and groom portraits are the most important.
What piece of advice would you give brides and grooms to ensure that they get wedding photos they love forever? (This can include tips about preparation, choosing a photographer, or anything else.)
I tell them to not stress the little things, let others help them! I also always give advice on doing a first look.
What are your favorite wedding trends to photograph right now?
Bridal Photographs!
How do you think an app like Joy can help make weddings better?
Joy helps couples stay organized. Plus, Joy helps keep all guests in the know!
If you weren’t a wedding photographer, what would you be doing?
I am also a teacher, so I am right where I want to be!
At Joy we believe that even though a wedding lasts a day, joy lasts forever. What does that mean to you?
Marriage is the ultimate goal. While the wedding is important, marriage is where the work really starts. Being happy on your wedding day is one thing, but being happy in your marriage is the most important. I feel it helps to have photographs from your wedding to look back on and remember how much you truly adore and love each other.
