How To Reposition Photos in Joy

When we created Joy, we wanted to make everything as simple as possible for our users, including automatically centering cover photos.  But after a few cases of accidental decapitation, we realized that this was causing formatting issues, particularly with vertical pictures. So now you can easily recenter cover photos on your wedding website.

First, navigate to your wedding website page.

After clicking on the camera icon in the upper right-hand corner, you will be presented with two options:  “Align photo” and “Change photo.” In this case, click on “Align photo.”

By clicking on each of the nine squares, you can adjust what portion of the picture is centered  without editing the original file. So if you want the sunset to take center stage, or maybe cut out that creepy ex-roommate who photobombed an otherwise perfect photo, go for it! The quality of the picture will no longer be affected.

    Now go make a wedding!

Can this position be changed to a custom value? The 9 options don’t really work for us. Someone’s head is either cut off or way too low. Is there custom CSS to change this value?
