Joy Proposal Story: Andrea & Jordan

Joy Proposal Story: Andrea & Jordan

Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?

After living on a remote little island for part of the year, we decided to book a nice relaxing weekend “glamping” at ‘Ome Sweet ‘Ome. We packed our bags, caught the ferry and drove five and a half hours until we arrived in Burlington, NL. Once we arrived, we stopped at ‘Ome Base and were brought to the Puffin Tent where we would spend the weekend. Upon unpacking, we realized we had no cell service…perfect! That evening we decided to unpack, relax and have a few beverages while playing a game of cards. Jordan had been pacing around the tent since we got there. I just thought that maybe he was a little bored since it was raining a little. As the evening went on, the rain cleared and we thought it would be nice to get a picture of the sunset in the background. Jordan said he would set up the camera and we could stand in the door of the tent. He was taking a while trying to set up the camera and fiddling around with the settings. So, of course, me being me, I said, “let me do it”. He insisted that he had it ready.

What he was trying to do was set the camera up to take multiple photos of the proposal but unfortunately, he couldn’t get it to work. As we were posing for the photo he got down on one knee and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. I said, “Yes!” After shedding a few tears of joy I said, “OMG I need to call everyone!” I picked up my phone and had no service. I walked all around, went down by the ocean to see if there was any service… nope. After a little while of trying to get the service, we gave up and spent the most relaxing night out by the fire in our woods jackets. The next day we decided to hike Chips Hill and I brought my phone for pictures. Once we got to the top of the hill, an hour later, a text message came through on my phone. Service! We had to Facetime our family and closest friends from the top of the hill where the wind was enough to blow you down. We were delighted to share our news of the most perfect weekend at ‘Ome Sweet ‘Ome, one we will never forget!
