Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?
We planned a summer vacation to Europe in July of 2016 to be a part of our close friend’s wedding in Salzburg, Austria. We wanted to make the most of the trip and decided to visit a few other cities as well. First stop, Paris, France. After a long flight, a drastic time change, and a bit of jet lag we decided not to waste a minute and immediately began sight-seeing. We walked for miles taking in the architecture and romantic beauty of the city. That evening, Brad said he made reservations for a restaurant with a fantastic view of the Eiffel Tower and that it was near a bridge he wanted to see too!
We dressed up and took a long stroll past the Eiffel Tower to the Passerelle Debilly. I was amazed by the view on the bridge of the tower and began taking photos of it on my phone when a woman came up to us asked if we would like our picture taken. We joyfully agreed and as she was about to snap our photo Brad turned to me, got down on one knee, and asked me to marry him! He had the ring box hidden in his sock the whole time and he coordinated the photographer from Flytographer to meet us there at that location! What a magical start to our adventure. We joked that we were on an “engagement-moon” as we continued our travels to Venice, Italy and ending in Austria with the celebration of love at our friend’s wedding. This will be an unforgettable, trip of a lifetime!
What has been your favorite experience planning the wedding?
Choosing the venue. Once we chose our venue everything started to fall into place. Our vision of the perfect day becomes closer to a reality one step at a time!
How do you stay sane under the pressures of wedding planning?
We gave ourselves plenty of time for the engagement so we could enjoy each step of the process without the pressure with a strict timeline.
What is your favorite part of using Joy for your wedding?
