Benjamin has noticed that I have a bit of unhealthy obsession with swings. I’d always go on the swing at the park and occasionally even kindly ask kids to get off it so I get my turn! He’d see my face lights up when I’m high up in the air! During our recent trip to Germany, we saw some really cool swings and that’s where the idea of building me a swing cemented. A few days before my birthday, he hauled wood and cement up to the hillside of his 100-acre proper in the foothills and started building it.
The wedding is the beginning of a new chapter in our lives. The love, joy and precious memories we share on the wedding day will be treasured forever!
After working 2 full days and late into the night, the swing was completed. He drove us up to the swing to show me my birthday present. He joined me on the swing and proposed right there in front of undeniably the best view on the property! Afterwards, we popped a bottle of champagne and painted our names and date on the side of the swing. We named it the “love swing” because a couple can sit on it while admiring the gorgeous view!
What has been your favorite experience planning the wedding?

How do you stay sane under the pressures of wedding planning?
We both agreed on a simple and casual wedding. Keeping in mind of the big picture definitely helps us stay grounded. We have to remind ourselves that the wedding is a celebration of our love, family and friends not a competition of elaborate details!
