Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?
Daniel asked me to go for a walk on the beach at 7am. He hates walking on the beach and was dressed all dapper so I thought, “OMG, this is it and I’m going to be in yoga pants, eyeglasses and my hair balled up on my head!”. His now best man was hiding in bushes and captured the whole thing as I stood on his shoes with my bare feet. The sand in March was so cold!
What has been your favorite experience planning the wedding?
Our favorite part so far has been getting involved with the local talent, because we are planning long distance. We want to use all local vendors and keep the wedding very true to its culture!
How do you stay sane under the pressures of wedding planning?
We enrolled in a wine club at our local vineyard in Williamsburg, VA.
What is your favorite part of using Joy for your wedding?
The app! Also, the fact that a schedule can be provided to your guests and updated immediately if there are any changes. Everyone at weddings seems to always second guess themselves on where they need to be and when. With Joy, it’s all right there!

I have kissed a lot of frogs. Serious frogs, but frogs nonetheless. True joy is waking up every morning never having doubt, wondering if an argument will be the end, or second-guessing being true to yourself. With Daniel, that’s how I knew. It’s easy, carefree, and mutual.
