Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?
When David was a boy in Malta, he saw the Guardiola in Senglea and knew that was the place he wanted to someday propose to his future wife. It’s a park with one of the original guard towers the knights built and occupied overlooking the Grand Harbor of the capital of Malta, Valletta. David surprised Jacklin on the first day of a vacation in Malta. He suggested a sunset walk to the park and when the timing was right, took us inside the Guardiola, got down on one knee, and Jacklin said, “Yes!” He organized a photographer with drone access to secretly capture the moment.

What has been your favorite experience planning the wedding?
Touring the church and its adjoining buildings where we’re going to be married. It was built by the knights in the 1500’s. The best part was to see these gorgeous centuries-old rooms being renovated to create a soup kitchen and space for social services. Its not just a historic church, its an active part of the community still helping those in need today.

How do you stay sane under the pressures of wedding planning?
Are you kidding? I love to plan, make lists, and stay organized! Joy makes everything so much easier. Completing each section of the website demonstrates to us that we’re making progress, and that keeps us sane.
