How did the two of you meet?
Matt worked in the mailroom of my company’s new office building. We became friends first and went out for lunch a lot and then one thing lead to another!
How long have you been together?
We have been together for almost 10 years!
You have found the person that you are going to spend the rest of your life with, there is nothing but joy that comes from that feeling.
Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?
He took me out to dinner at our favorite restaurant in Princeton, NJ, Teresa’s Cafe. Then, he proposed as we were walking through the square after dinner!
What has been your favorite experience planning the wedding?
Everything! I love doing all of the planning, I wish it was my job!
How do you stay sane under the pressures of wedding planning?
We laugh. I try not to let things get to me and laugh at some of the ridiculous things people get bent out of shape about. At the end of the day, it’s our wedding and there’s no way we can make every detail tailored to everyone’s opinion. (I’m not going to lie though, I do try. I really want everyone to have a great time!)
What piece of advice would you give couples to ensure that they use Joy to its fullest potential?
Have fun with it and enjoy filling out the information. I especially liked filling out the “Tidbits” section! After being together for ten years, I enjoyed thinking about some of the fun, special moments Matt and I have had along the way.
At Joy we believe that even though a wedding lasts a day, joy lasts forever. What does that mean to you?
There is a reason you are here, filling out information on a wedding website. You have found the person that you are going to spend the rest of your life with, there is nothing but joy that comes from that feeling. Your wedding is just a day you are celebrating that.
