Tiffanye and Marquis met at Marquis’ favorite place to eat—Chick-fil-a—in December of 2016. Marquis saw Tiffanye and asked for her number. They texted and chatted for over a month before they saw each other again. Once they did, they were inseparable!
Give us the proposal details!
The proposal—makes me smile just thinking about it. Marquis was on his way to my place to take me out to dinner. We talked on the phone for a while since he had a hour long drive ahead of him. As we were talking he asked me what wedding songs I liked. I named some random love songs, Luther Vandross songs, and The Wedding Song by Jamie Foxx.

We got off the phone and I finished getting dressed. Usually he calls me when he is outside, but this time he knocked on the door. When I opened the door he was on one knee, ring in hand, with The Wedding Song by Jamie playing from his car! So unexpected! He asked and of course I said yes! I always knew that his proposal wouldn’t be something conventional. I loved it.
What’s been your favorite part of wedding planning so far?
Since we are planning a destination wedding our favorite part has been looking at different resorts and seeing who has the best food. (We love to eat!)
How do you stay sane under the pressures of wedding planning?
Marquis is the calm, cool and collected one. He keeps me sane. Without him I would be a hot mess!
