Amanda & Harvey first met when Amanda’s company was purchasing the building Harvey worked in. Amanda was making her rounds through each office, when she saw something she didn’t expect: Harvey’s beautiful blues. Leaving that day, she boldly proclaimed to her coworkers that he would be hers before nightfall. (It took a little longer than that….) Later that week, Amanda tracked him down on LinkedIn. Harvey saw that she viewed his profile, so he found her on Facebook & Instagram. So very Millennial of them!
After a few months of playing hard to get, Harvey finally asked her on a date—he brought pizza and wine to her house. They spent the evening eating pizza, drinking wine and chatting on her front porch—and they’ve spent nearly every day together since.
Give us the details! When? Where? How?
We were in Iceland! It was Harvey’s birthday, which is also the day after our anniversary. We were driving along the coast, but we couldn’t see much because a cloud had settled on the water causing a dense white fog. Harvey pulled over and suggested we walk along the black sand beach. After a few steps, he handed me a letter, “Chapter 2.” He had given me “Chapter 1” on our first anniversary. The last lines of the letter read, “As they looked back on the past year, the moments that thrilled them were the times when the future became a bit clearer. Daydreaming, they could hear the giggles of children, smell the wafts of fresh paint…feel the weight of a ring…”
I looked up to see him down on one knee holding the most beautiful ring. I said yes and we hugged and kissed and cried. He had, “This is an adventure” engraved on the inside of the ring, which it was and is and always will be with him.
“The wedding is just the start….”
