Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?
I didn’t expect a thing! Both our families were in on it too. He went to play golf and I stayed at home to help my mom and his mom prepare for Christmas dinner. After we finished preparing the food and decorating the house my mom suggested we take the golf cart and go for a cappuccino at the clubhouse. On our way there, we took a detour, and as we drove down the fairway I saw Heinrich with a giant “Ring-Balloon” while Bruno Mars’s “Marry Me” played in the background. As I ran to him, he got down on one knee and said, “My love, will you make me the happiest man and marry me?” I cried, our sisters cried, our moms cried and our dads even shed a tear. It was the happiest, most emotional and loving day of my life, thus far. I can’t wait for our wedding day!

What has been your favorite experience planning the wedding?
Being able to make my wedding board on Pinterest “public”, haha! We love chilling in front of the TV, eating popcorn and sharing ideas for the wedding. We are lucky enough to share the same taste when it comes to decorating so it’s actually been a breeze!
How do you stay sane under the pressures of wedding planning?
We just keep reminding ourselves what all of this is really about! It’s about the two of us that want to start our lives together. When the stress becomes too much, we usually decide to have some alone time or even just a lovely dinner and try not to talk about the wedding too much, but rather about moving in together, the excitement of the honeymoon and our plans for the future!

What is your favorite part of using Joy for your wedding?
It is super user-friendly and you can communicate with all of your guests through one platform. You don’t need to worry about mail getting lost or printed typos, you can easily update everything and your guests will always be up to date on your special day.

What piece of advice would you give couples to ensure that they use Joy to its fullest potential?
I would definitely recommend that you get engagement photos taken by a professional photographer. Joy is designed to showcase you as a couple and I still can’t believe that I basically constructed my own wedding website and app! Guests keep asking me which company did it for me and I am very proud to say that I did it myself with the help of the Joy team.
At Joy we believe that even though a wedding lasts a day, joy lasts forever. What does that mean to you?
Although my wedding day will probably be the most pivotal moment in my life thus far, I am looking forward to a lifetime of joy with my husband. Being able to say that I have found a joy like this, is something that very few people get to experience. I consider myself and my fiancé very blessed to have found each other.
