Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?
James proposed the weekend he and Aubrey were visiting family over Thanksgiving. James knew Aubrey’s entire family was going to be at the Little Caesars Arena for a Red Wings Game. He proposed at the same location where he first told Aubrey, “I love you” which was also the first place they spent their first New Years Eve together. After schlepping around Downtown Detroit trying to get Aubrey to the exact location (she gets easily distracted) James finally got her there and asked, “Do you know where we are?” to which she replied, “Detroit?” After he explained where they actually were, he got down on one knee and asked for her hand forever. Following the proposal was a celebration at the game!

What is your favorite part of using Joy for your wedding?
I love that I can chat the Joy team to get answers. Everyone is super responsive and it’s been great to have them as a resource. It has actually kept us on track for things I have to do. Also, our family and friends seem to really enjoy that it’s mobile-friendly!

What piece of advice would you give couples to ensure that they use Joy to its fullest potential?
Use the chat function! If I can’t figure out how to do something I can solve it within seconds with this. I wish the rest of wedding planning was that easy!

Enjoy the wedding planning and remember, at the end of the day, it’s about getting married. There is a lot of joy found in looking back at the memories we’ve created together, living in the moment, and in the anticipation of what’s to come!
