How did the two of you meet?
We met studying abroad in Heidelberg, Germany.
Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?
This past June, we took a trip back to the quaint German town where we first met. While walking around the ancient castle grounds where we had our first one-on-one conversation, we entered the gazebo in the back castle courtyard as the sun was setting. He got down on one knee and asked me if I would love him forever and spend the rest of my life with him as his wife. I teared up and kissed him and said absolutely yes!
What has been your favorite experience planning the wedding?
Besides booking our ultimate dream venue in Big Sur, that has the most beautiful scenic views of one of our favorite places, we have loved getting to plan the rest of the details together, no matter how small they may be. From the flowers, to the colors of our bridal parties, to the music that will play for our first dance, we’ve loved every minute of it!
How do you stay sane under the pressures of wedding planning?
We share the burdens and joys of this wedding planning process so that it is not just falling on one of our plates. Also, keeping thorough track of key details and deadlines have been crucial!

At Joy we believe that even though a wedding lasts a day, joy lasts forever. What does that mean to you?
Even though planning this wedding is taking many hours away from our day to day, the joy that will come from it for us and our guests is so worth it! It is definitely worth the joy that we both will have every day for the rest of our days.
