How did the two of you meet?
We met at a bar in Vancouver, BC.
Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?
Andrew proposed down by the Columbia river 2 days before Valentines Day (Feb 12th, 2017). Andrew and I were getting pictures done when he told me to close my eyes. When I was allowed to finally open my eyes, I was surprised to see he had hired a local musician to play an acoustic version of our song (Hooked on a Feeling by Blue Swede) he also had one of our best friends bring down 2 dozen of my favorite flowers. When our song was finished being played, he got down on one knee and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. When i said yes, he set off fire works! I have the most romantic and loving partner, ever!

What has been your favorite experience planning the wedding?
I have loved getting all of the decorations together, designing our wedding website, and seeing when guests rsvp. It’s all pretty exciting!
How do you stay sane under the pressures of wedding planning?
I stay focused on the most important thing…our love for each other. Anytime i am stressed i remind myself the reason i am having a wedding. At the end of the day its about US and its about the celebration of love…two families coming together…when you think about that…all of sudden what colour of napkins are going to be on the table doesnt really matter haha.

What is your favorite part of using Joy for your wedding?
I like that I can easily ask questions using the messenger box on the bottom right. Plus, it’s super user friendly and has an app!
What piece of advice would you give couples to ensure that they use Joy to its fullest potential?
Ask questions when you are not sure about something.

At Joy we believe that even though a wedding lasts a day, joy lasts forever. What does that mean to you?
That to me means, like I said above, it’s about a marriage and a commitment. The party is just bonus!
