Joy Proposal Story: Chantale & Bryant

by Allie Grampa

Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?

On August 7th, 2016 we had just gotten back from celebrating a friend’s birthday in Tennessee. Bryant convinced everyone to act as if we were still celebrating our friend’s birthday at a jazz restaurant, Café 290, in Roswell, GA once we got back into town. Bryant told me that he was not going to be able to make it because he had to go into work as soon as we arrived back into town.

When we got to my house, I had got a surprise call from my now Matron of Honor, Jacquelyn. She told me she had flew in from Texas for meetings for work, and was sitting in my courtyard waiting for me!!! (I questioned Bryant about this, but he played it off just as surprised as I was.) Bryant made sure Jacquelyn got me ready for a night I would never forget.

Before I knew it, he was on one knee asking me, ” Would you marry me?”

We got to Café 290 where Jacquelyn sat me with my back to the door of the establishment. After about 15 minutes of listening to Jazz music, the lead singer comes to the microphone and says, “This one is for a very special lady.” The band starts playing “Let’s Get Married,” by Jagged Edge. I’m just enjoying the song, singing along with the song until I feel a tap on my shoulder with Bryant standing right next to me! The first thing out of my mouth was, “What are you doing here?” Before I knew it, he was on one knee asking me, ” Would you marry me?” I was crying too much to audibly say yes, but he knew what I was saying.
