Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?
Philip held the ring for quite a few months as he traveled back and forth between Texas and Europe. Following a talk with the bride’s father, he suddenly popped the question one evening when the bride arrived home from work, just as another visit was coming to an end. The couple’s original plans to attend the local high school football game that night included a halftime show with a wedding theme in lieu of traditional bagpipes, to both of their surprise!
What has been your favorite experience planning the wedding?
Picturing our friends and families finally meeting and then being completely immersed in a celebration of our beloved cultures.
How do you stay sane under the pressures of wedding planning?
Trans-Atlantic planning has been somewhat tricky, especially given the time difference! So, we skipped a lot of items that don’t excite us and shortened the timeline. It has been quite a thrill taking the 90-day fiancé route! Fortunately, our families and family have been wonderfully supportive as well.

What is your favorite part of using Joy for your wedding?
It’s a nice, clean site that’s easy to update.
What piece of advice would you give couples to ensure that they use Joy to its fullest potential?
Consider adding both the bride and groom as admins so you can work on building and updating the site (and RSVPs!) together.

At Joy we believe that even though a wedding lasts a day, joy lasts forever. What does that mean to you?
I knew memories of Philip would always be a source of joy in my life no matter what happened between us but this really makes it official now! I can’t wait to spend our lives enjoying this very special love we’ve been given.
