Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?
We took a road trip to Key West (we live in South Florida) over Memorial Day. After walking for hours in the muggy heat, I convinced her to go to the top of the lighthouse with me. By then, she knew something was up. We stood atop the tower looking over the island and out into the ocean, both ready and excited for what was about to happen, waiting for the other visitors to descend. As soon as the perimeter platform was all ours, I got down on my knee. Grace was so worried about the ring falling off and into the trees below, she screamed, “YES!” and snatched the ring right out of my hand. We stayed for a few more minutes to enjoy the moment, on cloud nine. So much so, that by the time we climbed down, we realized we never actually took a picture! So, we had to walk all the way back up! In that picture, we are both exhausted, sweaty and the happiest we’ve ever looked.

What has been your favorite experience planning the wedding?
Getting a wedding planner.
How do you stay sane under the pressures of wedding planning?
Having a plan and communicating the plan to everyone. Doing things last minute and asking others to do the same is a recipe for disaster!
What is your favorite part of using Joy for your wedding?

Celebrations can be having a party but they can also be as simple as two people celebrating friendship by getting ice cream, texting your dad when your favorite sports team wins or retelling great stories after the loss of a loved one.
