Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?
It was a surprise weekend getaway to a 5-star, adults-only resort in Cancun! Adam proposed during a private dinner on the beach. The best part? He ordered a gorgeous, hand made, wooden ring box in the shape of a mountain as a nod to the couple’s love of hiking. It was Dana’s favorite part of the proposal. Sometimes the little things are actually the big things.
What has been your favorite experience planning the wedding?
Finalizing a location, Punta Cana here we come!
How do you stay sane under the pressures of wedding planning?
A shared email address for wedding planning keeps us both in the loop without having to forward emails back and forth.
What is your favorite part of using Joy for your wedding?
The RSVP function that saves us from having to maintain (yet another) spreadsheet.
What piece of advice would you give couples to ensure that they use Joy to its fullest potential?
Think back to weddings you’ve attended. What would have been helpful to know? Include that information on your site. We once went to a wedding in the dead of winter, but the couple’s site didn’t mention the ceremony was outside! That was a very cold and long half hour.
At Joy we believe that even though a wedding lasts a day, joy lasts forever. What does that mean to you?
We tell each other, “If I’m there, you’re there and we can get married. It will all be ok.” It’s just one day and things will go wrong, focus on the joy that comes after the wedding to keep yourself grounded and sane.
