How did the two of you meet?
Short Answer? Ok Cupid. Longer answer? My best and I joined the dating website explicitly to go on terrible dates and then re-tell the hilarious outcomes to each other over wine and whiskey. I met Joseph after weeks of him pursuing me and our date lasted 52 hours!
Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?
We have an annual Cinco de Mayo themed party every year at our apartment. There has been a form of this every year for the last 10 years or so. After many beers, margaritas, and tequila shots, Joseph hid a vintage 1950’s emerald engagement ring inside of a red chili pepper! In front of friends and family members, he proposed to me and in a very typical Devin fashion I said, “Yeah, maybe.” Followed with a tearful, “Of course!” My sister asked a friend’s girlfriend to document with her camera. Those images along with my lovely friend’s videos and photos of the moment will forever be one I can revisit!
What has been your favorite experience planning the wedding?
All the bridal party get-togethers to craft, drink cocktails, eat cheese and just blow off steam. It’s been so great to have a reason for having all my favorite ladies over for craft and catch-up nights, I feel closer to them than I already was! It’s so great knowing that on the day of our wedding they can look at everything and remember the time spent making them with me and my future husband.
How do you stay sane under the pressures of wedding planning?
My girls and friends, honestly. I love that they let me just let blow off steam, complain, run ideas past them, etc. They are so supportive and absolutely amazing to have around, they keep me laughing and smiling. Plus my future husband is hilarious and goofy and always knows just what to do to cheer me up and calm me down. Booze help too!
