Joy Proposal Story: Emilie & Kyle

Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?

He proposed on the night of Emilie’s master’s program graduation night. Kyle walked Emilie to his car and was so nervous that he proposed in the front seat! Kyle then took Emilie to the spot on campus where they had first met, got down on one knee, and re-proposed again. It was adorable!

What has been your favorite experience planning the wedding?

Being able to make it our own. We just want to have a fun time with all of our friends and family.

How do you stay sane under the pressures of wedding planning?

Honestly, it’s just fun! Emilie stays sane by organizing the heck out of everything, while Kyle is just a chill guy and plays video games.

What is your favorite part of using Joy for your wedding?

It’s very easy to use and is a great tool for any bride who wants to stay organized. I LOVE the online RSVP’s! It saves me a ton of time worrying about them getting lost in the mail, and it’s way easier for my guests to just RSVP online rather than send it through snail mail.

What piece of advice would you give couples to ensure that they use Joy to its fullest potential?

Use the customization options! We got to add some fun stuff to ours, such as a heads-up about doing a 5K the day before the wedding (the bride loves to run), and on the RSVP questions, we were able to add one about our guests’ choices in beer, since we are serving Colorado-native drinks at our wedding.

At Joy we believe that even though a wedding lasts a day, joy lasts forever. What does that mean to you?

Don’t sweat the small stuff. Who cares if the wedding is Martha Stewart-perfect? Have fun and remember your wedding is only one day, marriage is forever!
