Joy Proposal Story: Gabbie & Christian

How did the two of you meet?

It all started at Target. Christian was a cart attendant and Gabbie was a frequent shopper. As Christian was pushing carts in the parking lot, Gabbie was learning how to drive in the parking lot. Distracted, Gabbie hit Christian in the parking lot.  He yelled at her as she drove away. Christian then found her in the store and after a few laughs about the situation got her phone number.

Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?

Gabbie was tricked into attending a birthday party with Christian’s sister and cousin. When they arrived at the park, both families were dressed as Target workers and Christian was in the middle of the crowd dressed as a cart attendant. Gabbie was overwhelmed by the number of people present and by the Target-themed decorations. Christian declared his love for Gabbie, got down on one knee, and asked her to marry him. She said, “Yes!”

What has been your favorite experience planning the wedding?

Pre-marital classes! These classes at our church have taught us to learn and explore new things about each other.

How do you stay sane under the pressures of wedding planning?

Remembering to laugh and enjoy the journey. Gabbie’s best friend constantly reminds her to enjoy the process. We also continue to be involved in other activities outside of wedding planning like spending time with family, attending bible study, and doing things we love like watching basketball.
