How did the two of you meet?
Jaime had just moved back home to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan after living on the idyllic West Coast of Canada for 7 years. She loved her adventurous life and had never really dreamt of moving back to the prairies … until one day, out of the blue, she did. Some undeniable force was calling her home, and so back to the Prairies she went. Shortly after moving home and into Betty White (her first house), Jaime signed up for Match.com on a whim.
We already know that it is going to be an amazing day, because it is the day that we officially commit our lives to one another.
Quite serendipitously, Lee had also done the same. As fate would have it, Jaime was one of Lee’s first Matches. A week later, they met at Ayden Kitchen and Bar for their first date. It was electrifying! Things moved quite quickly after that. Flash forward a year, and these two love birds are engaged. Jaime and Lee feel so blessed to have found one another, and it is undeniable that these two really are a match made in heaven.

Who made the first move?
Lee. He did his best to channel his inner Shakespeare and wrote Jaime a lovely chat request. If memory serves, it had something to do with, “You seem too good to be true.”
What was your most memorable date?
Probably our second date. Lee took Jaime skating at the outdoor rink beside the river… we shared our first kiss under the moonlight while snow fell around us – it was seriously right out of a movie! After, we warmed up with cocktails at The James. We laughed and told stories for hours. Plus, this was the night that Lee gave Jaime the infamous photo scavenger hunt that kept them smiling goofily at their phones for the three weeks that Lee was traveling for the holidays!

How long have you been together?
Just over a year. We met December 13, 2015 and “officially” started dating January 6, 2016. But, it was pretty much a done deal after our first date.
Who proposed?
Lee did. Jaime was very much apart of the ring selection & knew the engagement was coming, yet he still managed to surprise her in the best way possible!
What has been your favorite experience planning the wedding?
Envisioning the big day together and making it something unique and special to us. Also, we’ve had a lot of fun chatting about how excited we are to share our big day and the special places we’ve selected with our nearest and dearest.
How do you stay sane under the pressures of wedding planning?
Jaime is the planner of the two of us, it’s something she really enjoys and is very good at! We’ve worked out a system where Jaime does the research and Lee helps with the final decisions…. which is usually, whatever makes Jaime happy (smart guy!) Plus, we’re just really excited to start our lives together as husband and wife, so it’s all worth it. We are also trying to stay level-headed about the whole process, and know that not everything will go as planned, but knowing we’re going to have this amazing experience together, surrounded by our family is friends, helps to take the pressure off.

What is your favorite part of using Joy for your wedding?
Our favourite part of Joy is that it is very intuitive. It has everything you need to keep your guests informed and connected. All the information is presented in a simple, fun and visually awesome way.
At Joy we believe that even though a wedding lasts a day, joy lasts forever. What does that mean to you?
We are really looking forward to sharing a meaningful experience with our guests on our wedding day. We have chosen two very special locations for our ceremony and reception and hope our guests have the best time celebrating with us. We already know that it is going to be an amazing day, because it is the day that we officially commit our lives to one another.
Our wedding day will be an experience that we’ll be able to look back on it with fond memories and much joy for the rest of our lives! And, one day we will be able to share all these happy memories with our children. Each day together is an amazing gift, but this will be an extra special day filled with lots of love, laugher, and joy!
