Joy Proposal Story: Jon & Joy

Joy Proposal Story: Jon & Joy

Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?

In Newport, KY there is a walking bridge that has a section for love locks, much like the one in France. Before Jon left for basic, we put a lock on the bridge and threw the key into the Ohio River, symbolizing our love. When he returned from basic training we went back to our spot and he proposed right in front of it. It was super romantic, even though I knew it was coming!

What has been your favorite experience planning the wedding?

Being able to work with Jon and figure out what we both want. We don’t need the perfect wedding, we are getting married and that’s the only thing we need.

How do you stay sane under the pressures of wedding planning?

It’s been very stressful planning the wedding, especially because Jon is currently in Germany with the military. We are waiting until he comes home in May of 2019, so it has given me plenty of time to relax and not stress about it until it is closer!

What is your favorite part of using Joy for your wedding?

It’s very easy to use and very easy for my guests to navigate. Everything is simple and the layout is customizable!

What piece of advice would you give couples to ensure that they use Joy to its fullest potential?

Make sure you keep it up to date. You can even use it for your RSVPs so that you don’t have to spend extra money sending them out.

At Joy we believe that even though a wedding lasts a day, joy lasts forever. What does that mean to you?

It’s not the wedding that matters, it’s the joy you feel from being married. Marriage allows you to spend the rest of your life with your best friend, who will always be there for you.
