Kathryn and Mark met working for the same hospital in Bethel, Alaska—a small rural town of 6,000 people! They share their proposal story and the secret to a lasting, joyful marriage.
Give us the details! When? Where? How?
Mark had to order the ring custom and have it shipped to Bethel since there are no jewelry stores in town. He received it from the post office the Friday before Thanksgiving and was too excited to wait a week to propose. When he got home, Kathryn was making tacos (they had previously discussed having tacos at their wedding) so he thought it would be perfect to propose right then! She asked him to get the tortilla shells, and he put the ring on them. She was so surprised!
